Solo – Sangiran Area
Solo or Surakarta is one of the regions in Central Java which is quite well known as a tourist area that is still thick with its culture. The main characteristics of Solo tourism are art, culture, historical tourism and shopping tourism. In addition, the location of Solo which is not far from the slopes of Mount Lawu also has an attraction for tourists who want to take a vacation to enjoy the beautiful natural beauty.

For tourists who want to know the history of human evolution can visit the Sangiran Prehistoric Site, an archaeological site in Indonesia which in 1996 was recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage. Sangiran is a very important site for scientists to study human evolution. Up to now, there are 100 representative human fossils of Homo Erectus more than half of the population of Homo Erectus in the world.
For tourists who want to enjoy shopping, Solo has several traditional markets which are centers of batik and fashion. Like the Beringharjo Market in Yogyakarta, Solo has Pasar Klewer and Pasar Gedhe which are the main destinations of Solo batik hunters.
